Our story

We were our own first clients.

We're Karan and Kitu, and we got married in September 2026. Planning our wedding taught us that the hard part isn't choosing colors or flowers. It's everything underneath.

Finding vendors meant scrolling through hundreds of listings with no real way to compare them. Vetting them meant guessing, from portfolios and reviews, whether someone would show up on time at the price they quoted. Coordinating meant relaying messages between a dozen people who weren't working from the same timeline.

We got through it, and we learned exactly where a good planner earns their fee. So we built the company we wished we could have hired: one team that plans the whole celebration from the first call to the last dance, brings in the right people, checks them properly and runs the day, so the hosts can actually be there for it.

We're based in Sacramento and plan weddings, proposals and celebrations across Northern and Central California.

Why Garland & Grove

garlandnoun

A string of flowers worn around the neck. At Indian weddings the bride and groom exchange garlands in the jaimala, also called the varmala, each placing one around the other's neck. It is a first public yes, a way of saying “I choose you.” The flowers stand for joy and beauty, and the thread that holds them together stands for the promise to stay together through life's highs and lows.

grovenoun

A small group of trees, and since ancient times a place where people gather. Families have long come together beneath their shade to share a meal, mark a harvest or celebrate a wedding. A grove has room to spread out, shelter from the sun and a feeling of being among your own people. That's what we build into every event: a place where everyone you love is together and everything else is taken care of.
